چکیده

For sustainable and economically viable aquaculture, it is necessary to search for alternative sources of aquafeeds. Algae have been studied because their bioactive compounds with several activities such as antioxidants. The direct incorporation the macroalgae Pelvetia canaliculata in sunflower oil increase oxidative stability biological value results waste high nutritional that may be used an ingredient aquaculture feed. This study aimed evaluate effect incorporating algae powder (PEL 1%, PEL 10%) obtained after supplementation (WO WO aquafeeds gilthead seabream. We growth performance, haematological profile, stress metabolic parameters, intestine histomorphology. Experimental diets did not influence performance or somatic indexes, barely affected profile. Catalase showed higher activity seabream fed PEL10 than control diet. Total glutathione had a fish both diets. Plasmatic levels cholesterol were PEL1 WO10. Triglyceride WO1 total lipids histomorphology was slightly modulated by experimental but negatively. In general, algal aquafeed according growth, some catalase glutathione, intestinal villi length, number acid goblet cells.

Advances in the development of microdiets for gilthead seabream, Sparus aurata: a review

Ž . The performance of microdiets MDs for larvae of marine fish is frequently improved when they are co-fed with Artemia. This suggests that nutritional factors in the live food are positively influencing the ingestion, digestion and assimilation of the MD. This paper reviews recent advances in MD development on the gilthead seabream with special emphasis on studies that isolated, identified an...

A role for acidophilic granulocytes in the testis of the gilthead seabream (Sparus aurata L., Teleostei).

In mammals, a complex interaction between the immune and the reproductive systems has been described, in which testicular immune cells produce cytokines and growth factors which modulate gonad functions, while specific gonad cells influence the immune response in this organ. In this study we describe the presence of acidophilic granulocytes in the testis of the hermaphrodite teleost fish gilthe...

Target organs for lymphocystis disease virus replication in gilthead seabream (Sparus aurata)

The lymphocystis disease (LCD), the main viral pathology described in cultured gilthead seabream (Sparus aurata), is a self-limiting condition characterized by the appearance of hypertrophied fibroblasts (named lymphocysts) in the connective tissue of fish, primarily in the skin and fins. The causative agent of the disease is the Lymphocystis disease virus (LCDV), a member of the Iridoviridae f...

Molecular Taxonomic Profiling of Bacterial Communities in a Gilthead Seabream (Sparus aurata) Hatchery

As wild fish stocks decline worldwide, land-based fish rearing is likely to be of increasing relevance to feeding future human generations. Little is known about the structure and role of microbial communities in fish aquaculture, particularly at larval developmental stages where the fish microbiome develops and host animals are most susceptible to disease. We employed next-generation sequencin...
